American Aviation Academy (AAA) is an M-1 flight school specializing in FAA part 141 pilot flight training.  AAA is also certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to train European student pilots from PPL to CPL.

The majority of our cadets are international students from all over the world.  We offer structured courses that give students the best learning environment both in class, and during their practical flight phase.  Our 200-250 hour career-path programs usually take anywhere from 8 to14 months to complete.  Given our international training nature, we often tailor specific courses to meet each and every country’s aviation authority requirements.  In short, we will do what is necessary to meet our students’ aviation goals.

Reasons to choose American Aviation Academy:

·      Climate and overall flying conditions in Southern California (SaCal)

·      Position of our airport in relations to air traffic

·      Structured FAA and EASA courses with approved FAA 141 ground schools

.      Excellent weather nearly all year round, and world-class airspace

·      Knowledgeable and experienced staff with years of aviation experience

·      25 plus aircrafts to serve our student body, and continuing to grow

·      Specializing in international student pilot training

·      Streamline Visa processing, SEVIS and TSA approved

·      English language training environment (ICAO 4 or better)

·      12 pilot briefing rooms, student and Instructor lounges

·      Furnished student accommodations

.      Available language training courses through vetted partners

·      Daily student shuttle service (3 times daily Monday thru Friday)

·      Easy access to public transit, and new trolley system near school

·      Cultural diversity throughout the school and San Diego

·      Customized programs to meet various aviation authorities

.      UK radio license approval (ICAO level 6)

.    EASA ATPL theory program and examinations conducted on-site

We enjoy an average of 300+ days of VFR conditions, and add another 30 to 50 days of actual IFR conditions.  This sums up to be the best flying weather in the world.  As they say “time is money”.  Since available weather in San Diego is superior to anywhere else in the world, we are confident that we can save you time while training with us.

Gillespie Airport (KSEE) is ranked 46th in the US amongst all airports.  That includes civil, GA, international, and military airports.  Flight training in SoCal will give you the best possible experience to take back home with you… especially if you are seeking a career path in aviation.  You can experience mountain flying, coastal, proximity to international border, high altitude, and over the water operations.  This multi dimensional experience will prove most valuable when flying back home, or for a prospective airline.
